A delegation from the Advanced Evangelical Institute of Applied Technology and Management (ISETAG), Douala-Cameroon on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 met with management of the Regional Maritime University (RMU), in Accra to explore partnership potentials.
The meeting followed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) signed in January 2024 to initiate steps towards establishing an affiliation with the RMU for various programmes.
Two students
from ISETAG were awarded tuition free scholarships to pursue Marine Engineering and Port and Shipping Administration at RMU.
This partnership aims to enhance academic exchange and collaboration, providing students with access to quality education and resources in maritime disciplines.
The two-member delegation from Cameroon were Director of ISETAG, Mr Aurelien Brunnel Ngomen Pamen and Director of Academic Affairs Mr Ignace Enano Bekate.
During the meeting, both institutions discussed potential areas of collaboration, including joint research initiatives, faculty exchange programmes and the development of specialised training modules tailored to the needs of the maritime industry.
The leadership of RMU, led by the Ag. Vice Chancellor Dr Jethro W. Brooks Jr expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting the importance of fostering relationships with educational institutions in Africa to strengthen regional capacity in maritime education and training.
ISETAG’s delegation emphasized their commitment to developing skilled professionals in the maritime sector, which is crucial for the economic growth of Cameroon and the broader region.
Further discussions are planned to finalize the details of the partnership and explore additional opportunities for collaboration in the future.
